Communication Specialist

We are looking for a part-time communication specialist and editor to work with our team on running our communication and content production agenda. The candidate should have proven experience running communications for a small organization and a desire to contribute to a more open, just, and democratic technology landscape.

You will join Open Future as we engage in policy debates about access to knowledge and culture, limiting the power of technology companies, and strengthening the role of public institutions and civic initiatives in the digital environment. Strong, consistent communication is a key aspect of our work.

An ideal candidate will have editorial experience and be able to produce materials such as blog posts, newsletters, event reports, or short summaries of our work. This person will also have experience with WordPress CMS, managing social media accounts, managing a newsletter, and producing PDFs (with the help of an external graphic designer).

We believe in the Digital Commons, a shared and public internet, and opening access to knowledge and culture. We are optimistic about the potential of technology to serve the public interest.

Our goal is to increase the movement’s strategic advocacy capacity and its ability to influence policy processes in the European Union. We strive to question the status quo and trigger tangible changes within both the open movement and European digital policies.
