March 25, 2025

We are pleased to announce that Aditya Singh has joined Open Future as a Senior Policy Analyst. Aditya brings nearly a decade of experience in digital rights, data governance, and technology ethics. He will contribute to our Digital Commons work and lead our activities within the Next Generation Internet (NGI) Commons project, which is aimed at developing a long-term strategy for digital and internet commons in Europe. The NGI Commons initiative recognizes that digital commons are fundamental to Europe’s digital sovereignty and building trust in the digital ecosystem. As part of the consortium, Open Future mapped digital sovereignty policy initiatives and is leading the development of a strategic agenda that supports the digital commons ecosystem and investment in public digital infrastructure.

Throughout his career, Aditya has worked with leading organizations worldwide, including the Centre for Communication Governance and the Centre for Internet and Society in India, Trilateral Research in Ireland, and the Open Data Institute in the UK. He currently serves as a Fellow at Connected by Data, a UK-based think tank, and previously held the position of Global Policy Fellow at the Institute for Technology and Society in Rio de Janeiro.

Aditya holds a Master’s in Law and Digital Technologies from Leiden University and a dual BA and LLB from the National Law School of India, Bangalore. His ongoing doctoral research at the University of Edinburgh examines commons-based approaches to data governance in agriculture and food systems.

At Open Future, we remain committed to building a future based on democratic values and Public Digital Infrastructure. Aditya’s extensive experience in digital rights and technology ethics matches this vision, and we are excited to welcome him to our team.
