AI_Commons at CC Global Summit 2021

The challenging relationship between openness and privacy/personality rights has been signalled in the Open Movement for years and it was one of the most recurring issues discussed during the CC Global Summit 2021.

On 22 September, we presented our Research activity AI_Commons, which aims at exploring governance solutions that balance open sharing with protection of personal data and privacy by researching how photos of faces from Flickr and other photo-sharing sites were used to build training datasets for facial recognition AI.
