The IMCO and LIBE Committees of the European Parliament adopt their report containing 771 amendments. The report includes an exemption for open source AI components, but this exemption does not apply to so-called “foundation models”. This means that under the Parliament’s report, open source GPAI models would have to comply with the same obligations as all other GPAI models.
