Aditya is Senior Policy Analyst at Open Future, bringing nearly a decade of experience in digital rights, data governance, and technology ethics.
His career in internet governance began with advocacy and research organizations in India, including the Centre for Communication Governance and the Centre for Internet and Society. Since then, he has worked with organizations across regions, including Trilateral Research in Ireland and the Open Data Institute in the UK. He also served as a Global Policy Fellow at the Institute for Technology and Society in Rio de Janeiro. Currently, he is a Fellow at Connected by Data, a UK-based think tank.
Aditya also works in the field of responsible AI, advising organizations on the ethical development and deployment of technology. He advocates for early risk assessment and harm prevention in digital technologies while developing frameworks that can guide good organizational practice. His work focuses on ensuring that AI systems are not only legally compliant but also aligned with broader social values.
He holds a Master’s in Law and Digital Technologies from Leiden University and a dual B.A. and LL.B from the National Law School of India, Bangalore. His doctoral research at the University of Edinburgh explores commons-based approaches to data governance in agriculture and food systems, with a focus on addressing power asymmetries in the sector.
