Protecting Open Licenses in the EU Copyright Reform at CC Global Summit 2021

Together with Felix Reda (GFF), we reported about our successful efforts to achieve meaningful protections for public domain and CC-licensed content in the German implementation of the CDSM Directive. We also took the chance to present the White Paper: “Proposal to Leverage Art.17 of CDSM Directive to build a public repository of Public Domain and openly licensed works“authored by Julia and Paul. The proposal is an attempt to treat the new regulatory framework as an opportunity that can be leveraged to design new systems that provide value to the public
