Open Future response to the consultation on opt-out standards

Open Future has submitted a response to the European Commission’s Stakeholder consultation and call for expression of interest supporting the implementation of Measure 1.3 of the Copyright Chapter of the General-Purpose AI Code of Practice.

In our response, we provide an assessment of a range of existing and proposed TDM opt-out mechanisms. The submission builds on our earlier policy briefs on machine-readable opt-outs and AI training, including Divergent mechanisms, elusive vocabularies and A vocabulary for opting out of AI training and other forms of TDM.

Through the consultation, we have also expressed our interest in contributing to the follow-up workshops announced by the Commission as part of the process to further develop and assess opt-out standards.
